360° Painting of Saskatoon – Our Story
Terry and Marie Wuschenny met in the summer of 1990, through mutual friends in Saskatoon, SK. However, Terry had to convince Marie to give him a chance, as she was busy playing sports and claimed to not have time to date. Finally, at the end of the summer, after spending time up at Marie’s family’s cabin at Greig Lake, with the same mutual friends that had introduced them, Terry convinced Marie to let him take her on a first date.
At the time, Terry was working as an Electrical technologist, and Marie was working for a friend’s business in the shipping and receiving department. They were engaged within a year, and married in June of 1992.
One week after their wedding, they moved to Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, where Terry had started a job working for the local utility company. Upon arrival, Marie soon found employment, working administration for an air conditioning company on the island. They enjoyed close to ten wonderful years in the Cayman Islands, scuba diving, playing softball, boating, hanging out with friends, relaxing on the beach and raising their three daughters.
In August of 2001, Terry and Marie decided to move back to Saskatchewan. Terry had grown up in Ituna, SK and Marie had grown up in Harris, SK. The majority of their family was still located within the province, making their decision easy. They bought their first house together in the small town of Harris, SK, in 2001. Terry founded a consulting company in which he contracted his services to an electrical business in Saskatoon (45 min away). Marie’s days were filled with teaching after-school sports teams at the local school, as well as running her three daughters to and from practices for every sport and extra curricular program imaginable.
Even though it was supposed to be a temporary home, Marie and Terry spent seven years in Harris, SK. In 2008, the couple decided to move to an acreage west of Saskatoon. Their daughters were older at this time, and were looking at attending University in the near future. Therefore the move to Saskatoon, a city home to a University, made sense. It also shortened Terry’s commute time to work considerably!
Sometimes, the Unexpected Happens….
In 2013, Terry’s contract with the company he’d been working for over the last ten years was terminated. Terry found himself looking for a job for the first time in over ten years. Terry quickly found new employment and over the next two years he worked for two different electrical companies. After these two years, he found himself longing for a job that would give him the freedom to work for himself. He wanted to spend more time at home with his family and to again be leading a company.
Everything Happens for a Reason!
Terry decided to utilize a franchise broker who put him in contact with Paul Flick, the owner of 360 Painting. Terry and Marie were both very impressed with Paul’s straightforward, no nonsense attitude. He always kept his word during their discussions – when he said he would call back with more information, he always called back. He was persistent and had extensive experience. Terry and Marie felt that Paul had similar values and goals to their own, and they certainly liked that Paul was a fellow Canadian.
Initially, Marie thought Terry was joking when he brought up the topic of owning a painting company. In the past, Terry had never expressed any interest in painting and Marie in fact had been the painter of the family. Terry explained to her that, due to his experiences and others he had spoken with, he felt there was a lack of quality home renovation service providers in the Saskatoon area, and he wanted to change that. He believed that with 360 Painting he could offer the people of Saskatoon a much needed higher quality service provider. Terry wanted to offer them more than just a paint job, he wanted to provide them with a great paint job that held its quality for years, and a great overall customer experience.
