The 360 Exterior Painting Process

Every exterior project follows our structured nine-step process. You’ll know exactly what to expect before the first brush touches your property.

Step 1: Consultation

We provide guidance on paint finishes and types, including samples, and draw on our partnerships with Sherwin-Williams and other leading brands to help you find the right paint for your exterior.

Step 2: Property Protection

Before work begins, we secure or cover landscaping, grills, outdoor furniture, and other outdoor features using tarps and drop cloths to prevent paint drips and splatters.

Step 3: Preliminary Walk-Through

An on-site supervisor conducts a thorough walk-through with you before the project starts to confirm exactly what you want and how it should be done.

Step 4: Surface Preparation

This is where lasting results are built. We remove dirt and mildew using biodegradable detergent or bleach, follow with scraping and sanding away peeling or flaking paint, and complete spot priming, caulking, and applying putty as needed. We also evaluate and address rotten or broken wood and secure any loose boards, moldings, or protruding nails.

Step 5: Window and Fixture Preparation

Windows are protected throughout the painting process. Screens may be removed if necessary, and downspouts, storm windows, and shutters are taken down and later replaced. Any additional costs for these items are communicated to you in advance.

Step 6: Repair Evaluation

Our team may bring minor repair needs to your attention when they could protect your long-term investment. Any extra charges for repairs are agreed upon before work proceeds.

Step 7: Painting

We apply only high-quality products, following safety guidelines for every coat, including the finishing coat.

Step 8: Finishing Touches

All tools and equipment are removed from your property. We leave your space in pristine condition, with only the new coat of paint as evidence we were there.

Step 9: Final Walk-Through

Our team completes its own final inspection, then invites you to join for a walk-through so we can address any remaining questions or concerns and confirm the project meets your expectations.
