If you've ever sent your painter or color consultant a Pinterest photo and said, "I want this," you're definitely not alone. In fact, it's one of the most common starting points for our color consultations.

Pinterest can be an incredible source of inspiration—but it also creates one of the most common points of confusion we see.

A homeowner sends us a Pinterest photo and asks,

"Can you show me what these colors would look like on my house?"

So we carefully color match the siding, trim, shutters, and even gutters

to create a rendering using the exact same exterior color palette.

We send it back, and the response is often something like:

"Hmm... it doesn't really look like the picture."

"I don't think those are the right colors." ...
