Frequently Asked Questions
General Painting Questions
1. Do you offer free painting estimates in Wichita?
Yes. We provide free, no-obligation estimates for residential and commercial painting projects located within approximately one hour of Wichita.
For projects located beyond one hour, a travel fee may apply (see Service Area section below).
2. How does the painting estimate process work?
You can schedule your estimate online or by calling 316-395-0117. Our office team will confirm your appointment by text and email.
We strongly prefer that all homeowners be present so we can:
- Walk the project together
- Discuss goals and expectations
- Review color and finish options
- Answer questions
- Provide the most accurate scope of work
On the day of your estimate, Chuck, our General Manager will text you when he is on the way and prepare your quote onsite.
If no one will be present for an exterior estimate, we require access to the backyard and all areas being quoted. Pets must be secured prior to arrival.
3. How long does a painting estimate take?
Most estimates take 30–60 minutes, depending on project size and complexity.
4. Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. 360° Painting Wichita is fully insured for your protection and peace of mind.
5. Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. We offer a 2 year workmanship warranty on qualifying projects.
6. What brands of paint do you use?
We use premium, top of the line paint products from leading manufacturers including:
- Sherwin Williams
- PPG
- Benjamin Moore
- Specialty manufacturers when required
Product selection depends on surface type, exposure, durability needs, and longevity goals. We recommend the best option for your specific project during your estimate.
7. Do you offer professional color consulting?
Yes. We provide expert color guidance and offer customized digital renderings so you can visualize your home before painting begins.
8. How soon can you start my painting project?
Scheduling varies based on season, weather, and current workload. In many cases, crews are available within 1-2 weeks. We provide realistic scheduling expectations during your estimate.
9. What happens if weather delays my exterior painting project?
If weather becomes unsuitable, we stop at a safe and logical point.
Once conditions improve and surfaces are properly dried, we resume work. If needed, we will re-power wash to ensure proper adhesion and long lasting results.
10. How many paint colors are included in my project?
We include up to three colors per project at no additional charge.
Additional colors are subject to an added fee due to increased materials, product switching, and labor time required to maintain clean, professional results.
Exterior Painting
11. How do you prep a house before exterior painting?
Proper preparation is critical for longevity. Our exterior prep process may include:
- Power washing
- Scraping and sanding peeling paint
- Caulking cracks and gaps
- Spot priming bare surfaces
- Protecting landscaping and surrounding areas
12. Do you power wash before exterior painting?
Yes. Most exterior painting projects include power washing to remove dirt, mildew, and debris to ensure proper adhesion.
13. Can you paint vinyl siding?
Yes. We can paint vinyl siding; however, only select colors are available for vinyl applications. This ensures the siding does not overheat, warp, or become damaged.
We will guide you through safe color options and discuss upgrades if desired.
14. How long does exterior paint last in Kansas?
High quality exterior paint typically lasts 7 to 10 years, depending on sun exposure, weather conditions, and surface preparation.
Upgraded products can extend longevity even further. For example, Sherwin Williams Rain Refresh is designed to significantly extend the life of your paint job compared to standard exterior paint.
15. How long does exterior painting take?
Most homes take 2 to 5 days, depending on size, prep needs, and weather conditions.
16. Can you paint brick homes?
Yes. We use breathable masonry coatings designed specifically for brick and concrete surfaces.
We also offer limewashing for a soft, matte, mineral based finish that allows brick to breathe naturally.
17. Do you paint trim, soffits, fascia, and gutters?
Yes. We paint trim, fascia, soffits, shutters, doors, and other exterior components as part of your project.
Interior Painting
18. How do you protect my home during interior painting?
We carefully:
- Cover floors and furniture
- Mask trim and fixtures
- Fill nail holes and minor imperfections
- Use clean drop cloths
- Maintain a tidy, organized workspace
19. Do I need to move furniture before painting?
We ask that smaller items and valuables be removed prior to arrival. Larger furniture should be moved toward the center of the room. Our team protects all furniture before painting begins.
20. Do you repair drywall before painting?
Yes. We handle minor repairs such as nail holes, dents, and cracks.
Larger drywall repairs must be discussed during the estimate so we can properly scope the work.
21. How long does interior painting take?
Single rooms often take less than one day. Full interior painting projects may take up to one week, depending on size and complexity.
22. What paint finish should I use for interior walls?
We typically recommend:
- Flat/Matte: Hides imperfections well but is less washable. Best for low traffic areas.
- Eggshell or Satin: Soft sheen with improved cleanability. Ideal for living areas and bedrooms.
- Semi-Gloss: Most durable and easiest to clean. Best for trim, doors, and high moisture areas.
We help guide finish selection based on lighting, lifestyle, and room use.
Cabinet Painting
23. Can you paint kitchen cabinets?
Yes. We offer professional cabinet refinishing using durable coatings specifically designed for cabinetry.
24. Do you remove cabinet doors before painting?

Deck & Fence Staining
27. Do you stain decks and fences?
Yes. We offer staining and sealing services to protect wood from moisture and UV exposure.
28. Should I paint or stain my deck?
Stain penetrates the wood and allows it to breathe, making it generally better for long term wood health.
Paint offers more color options and may last longer between reapplications, but it sits on the surface and can peel over time.
We evaluate your current surface and recommend the best solution during your estimate.
Ceilings & Wallcoverings
29. Do you remove popcorn ceilings?
Yes. We professionally remove popcorn ceilings and refinish the surface for a clean, modern look.
30. Do you remove wallpaper?
Yes. We remove wallpaper using proper techniques to minimize drywall damage. Surface repair is assessed during your estimate.

Yes. We install both traditional and temporary (peel and stick) wallpaper. We work with experienced installers who have been hanging wallpaper for years and understand pattern alignment, seam matching, and proper adhesion techniques.
Traditional wallpaper installations include a one year workmanship warranty. Peel and stick wallpaper is not warranted due to manufacturer limitations.
